- Promote your values-driven business
Social Enterprise Mark awarded to SOFA project
They have joined Bristol Community Transport, The Zebra Collective, Bosence Farm Community Ltd, South Molton Recycle, Mid-Devon Community Recycling, COSMIC, the Co-operative Group South West, Devon Doctors and the Eden Project.
SOFA Project helps over 6500 households a year to furnish their homes at affordable prices, collecting over 25,000 items a year that would otherwise have gone to landfill.
SOFA’s charitable objective was set as supplying second hand furniture, household goods and domestic electrical appliances to people in conditions of need by sourcing items from community donors. In time this has expanded to include graded items sourced from manufacturers like Baumatic and retailers like Dixon’s and these are now attracting people looking to buy more ‘smartly’ for their home refurbishments.
The Social Enterprise Mark is a way for social enterprises to promote their value-driven business to customers. The Mark also aims to help social enterprises benefit from the growth in ethical consumerism. It's a Mark of assurance - of right thinking and bright thinking - for social enterprises trading in South West England.
The Social Enterprise Mark is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund and it is sponsored by the The Co-operative Group South West and Triodos Bank. RISE manages the Mark in South West England and is funded by the South West Regional Development Agency.
