Social enterprise is an excellent way for young people to start their own business and invest the profits for social or environmental benefit. Why not search for social enterprises in your area and ask to visit them to find out more on how they work.

From September 2008, social enterprise will be part of the National Curriculum in Business Studies, so more people will understand how social enterprises work. [what is social enterprise?]

Enterprise Week in November every year stimulates young people's interest in business - there is a dedicated Social Enterprise Day. In 2007, RISE provided workshops in schools around Devon to help young people develop their ideas to improve their neighbourhoods or give young people more interesting things to do. The Make Your Mark campaign helps young people to make their ideas happen.
